Holi is unequivocally the most vibrant and colorful festival in the world. While traditionally it was celebrated with dry gulal and buckets of water, unfortunately today it comes with splashes of synthetic pigments. Aftereffects of which not only cause discomfort to our skin, hair, eyes but also can be hazardous to our health. Perhaps why a little precaution goes a long way.

Here’s how to protect hair and skin from Holi colors:

1) Apply Coconut and Mustard Oils-Since dry skin easily allows chemicals to penetrate the body, always apply coconut oil(preferably) on your entire body and apply mustard oil on your hair, at least an hour before playing. If a day before Holi, coconut oil is applied on body, especially on face, hands and legs then the color can be removed from the skin easily. Additionally, mustard oil should also be applied on hairs. Buy Hair Oil Online, which can protect your hairs from damage caused by colors. Hair containing oil, store less color comparatively. Note: It is very important to oil between fingertips, near fingernails and behind the ear.

2) Facial care: It is very important to moisturize your skin with a sunscreen lotion. It protects the skin from exposure to harsh rays of the sun and free radicals present in Holi colors. Don’t forget to apply sunscreen after oiling your body, and make sure it is gel based, waterproof and of SPF 25. If you’re in the sun for more than 3 hours, remember to re-apply the sunscreen. Buy Sunscreen Online and protect your skin from colors and harmful UV rays. Also, don’t forget to seal your lips with petroleum jelly. Make sure you apply enough coconut oil on your face before you let those colors seep in on you.

3) Moisturize- Keeping your skin moisturized is the most important step. Apply a gentle moisturizer that keeps you protected from the hazardous effects of colors and the synthetic elements in it. Pick a moisturizer that suits your skin type and helps retain moisture.

4) Stay Hydrated- Keeping yourself hydrated is the trick. So keep drinking water, juices as well as glucose, should you feel the need of re-energizing yourself. Dehydration causes your skin to dry and combined with harsh chemicals, the color might seep into your skin. So drink clean water throughout to keep your energy levels high.

5) Apply Multani Mithi - After playing Holi when you go for bathing, soak Multani Mithi about an hour ago. While taking bath apply this on skin where color is there. Dry this pack for some time. then after drying, wash it. This Mud pack is very helpful in removing color from the body.
